Sunday, September 26, 2004 heya fellaz, busy week this week. and busier week i can predict next week. and even worse the week after that. but i shall look forward to the 14th October. my last paper. however, knowing SJI, they immediately pile me up with stuff on the 15th October. lets see. first scout meeting on 5day week basis. NTU fuel cells presentation. PSLTC. hmm. what a very filled day. I should be ambling on the streets of Orchard on that day. grrrr. have a look at my week.monday: Physics practical was easy. but i forgot to extra-poliate the line. how shitty. i was comtemplating during the last 5 minutes whether to or not to. and i chose the wrong choice. tuesday: my dental appointment. left early from physics. mr sirhan had his own version of my reason for leaving early. haha. got orange braces now. with elastic bands again. watched terminal at night too with sister and James wednesday: find mr adrian lim with zhuang mao and kai chung. settled some of the secondary 3 level stuff. going to be a tough job ahead for us i think. thursday: PSF meeting. discussed about PSLTC. went on and on. friday: ting xie again. played soccer after school with kenneth, davidson, rueban, harish, goutham...left my handphone in class...how forgetful...and at night, my mum was reversing the car of out the porch at she bang the automatic closing gate. the whole gate dropped out and a small portion of the wall came down with it too. my dad was a frightening sight that night. yelling at my mum for not concentrating on the back. saturday: scouts chief commissioner award ceremony CIP at fort canning park. went at 4pm. reached home around 10.45pm. had quite an enjoyable time there. my job was to cue the band when to start the fanfare, to remove the platform for mr nicholas tang, to put it back, to remove it again for the changkat changi guy and finally to pop the balloon that Darrick blown. sunday: based on timetable was meant to do chinese revision. ended up completing homework which i am not very good in. new busy week ahead. good night! [joel] yeah. he is the woman. [chibisuki] why are you going mad? mad over me arh. muahaha Sunday, September 19, 2004 another week of my life just slipped away from me and there is nothing i can do about it. except accept it.Monday: 1st ting xie of the week which i got 10/10. something that i can be proud of for a moment or so. Tuesday: 2nd ting xie of the week. FYE chinese oral exam. i was dumbfounded when tan pek leng asked the question what else can i learn from partaking in CIP overseas. speechless. brain seemed like it was too far away for the nervous signals to reach my mouth. Thus I 'found' out how 'dumb' i was. and my doubts were cleared few days later due to my chemistry practical. Wednesday: much dreaded Biology practical. nothing chinese related because no chinese for today. woohoooo. Thursday: 3rd ting xie of the week. Friday: to top it all off. chinese test. plus the chemistry practical test. which i very cleverly screwed up. blardy electron charge. why did i have to mix it up. reassuring fact of my stupidity. to clear off the towering level of stress, when to the gym to push and pull some metal blocks. then went into this room which kept on spurting hot steam. rather relaxing i would say. Saturday: morning was spent playing dota in warcraft III. limited my playtime to only one Saturday morning a week. then back went my CD into the hidden chambers of my sister's room. together with the cobwebs and spiderman! evening spent very nicely at the gym and then the steam room again. had slurpee after that. yum yum. which leads me to think why they call it brain freeze. because drinking too much of it would lead my brain to freeze when i most needed it in front of tan pek leng's inquisitive gaze. mental note to cut down on slurpees! Sunday: rushing of homework day as usual. visited my sister's new apartment in edgefield plains. the echo there was ear-shattering. every single noise was audible. you could even hear the gentle echo of the sound of a shadow of a feather falling on a mattress. (rather exaggerative i guess. quoted from a book. can you believe it. i read.) Monday: physics practical. hopefully, i would ace this paper. really need something to boost my morale in studies. Tuesday: possibly going to leave early because of my dental appointment. still awaiting the approval of the great Sirhan. Wednesday: hmm. seems like i am predicting the whole of next week. better stop now. save the cells up there in the skull for better use. [people who tagged] too troublesome to switch between windows and reply every single soul's comment. so i am replying collectively. about the animal abuse thing, as far as i am concern i had no means of stopping my dad. after all, Bobby did seem to get use to it after some time. as for the store. yep kind of messy. store cleaning after FYE i believe very strongly. Zhi Wei's underwear, i hope he has the decency of remembering them next time. Saturday, September 11, 2004 Monday was a day that I played hell a lot and did very little work. I sat around most of the time comtemplating what was going to happen the next day when I meet the fellow Scouts whom I 'pang seh'.Tuesday came and I was in school. The response was overwhelming. I was getting lots of attention. In fact too much attention. I am not enjoying this for your information. and the squash guys had to have a VIP coming down in the afternoon. Hence, we had to move all the poles back into the store. MESSILY. due to the lack of precious seconds. so I was momentarily crowned SU head. SU being 'slackers union' or 'slackers united'. I did not enjoy this fame very much either. after all being a SPL and SU head somehow seems to contradict. dont you figure? off we went to coronation plaza. bought food there and made a public nuisance of ourselves in a way. haha. making a racket in the supermarket. slept in the bus on the way to 'choice retreat centre' in jurong. mr lim and papa bear led us in discussions after discussions about all those Lasallian Scouting stuffies. land unit vs sea unit soccer match. we lost. i think it was 6-5. but it was all in good fun yeah? somehow i felt our team lack something. which i cant figure out what. dinner. then bathing. then more discussions. then hell a lot of 'tai di' along the way here and there. did not really do very well. perhaps card games are not for me. then singing of songs then affirmation. which made me feel better a little bit. But the SU head title was still stuck with me. nice warm cozy sleeping bag. nice mattress. nice pillow. 'shiok'! in the morning. had breakfast. more discussions. this time about our current unit. lunch. and we were out of the place. i had redeemed myself by washing plates and i am now branded secretary of SU. hope this does not go out to the other levels. or else my life in scouts will be. hmmm. very hard to play. hmmm. went to toa payoh with the big shots. and another discussion ensued. about our vision and mission. on my way home, my mum called me and told me that Mr Kwang had called my home and told her that one of the scouts donation draw tickets i had sold won first prize. 236229. and through careful investigation, we found the lucky lady to be my mother's hairdresser's friend. quite distant. but i hope to get a token of appreciation of some sort. HAHA. its a toyota altis 1.6l after all. thursday was a catching up on homework day and also another play day. practically everyday i seem to be doing work and playing. weird. work never seems to end. friday. my family (inclusive of the doggie) and i went to sentosa. we wanted to teach dear Bobby how to swim. and poor Bobby was literally dumped into the water several times. my gosh. tried to get a tan but the sun wasnt very supportive. too bad then. came home and did work and played again of course. this morning, I woke up at 8.30am. record early time man! it is like 3 hours earlier than usual. so off to more work. geez. so here i am tired of homework, and so i am blogging. but after this long entry, i am tired of blogging. so off to more work (or play) hmmmm. let me ponder. [JI] you are welcome. hope your friendship with gabriel will improve. he is a nice fella you know. haha. and could you please change your name. it is September 11 today!!! dear dear... [ch Um] thank you for being a fervent supporter of my blog. you always seem around to comment on my thoughts. hehe. thank you for the support yeah. affirmation version 2. (electronic style). and SmiLeZ. this word seems nicer handwritten.... [Louis] thank you for coming to boost our morale. and yep i think we did our best too. the design was just.....'koyak' [PZM] your affirmation note was pretty meaningful. thank you. one of those that actually touched my heart. thank you yeah. [kai] yes i know mr canoeist pro. but being first is not the most important thing. it is being together with the rest. according to Selamat (OBS instructor) [xuan.*] deng. first time see me arh. I got grow a lot since then meh. maybe because you are very short. hahaha. sorry. kidding. say hi to pamela! [Joel] hey I add you okay old buddy? i did not know you had a blog. funky hairdo at the NYAA bronze award ceremony. but cant beat alvan's though. [Eugene] yep. i think i am slowly getting over whatever that is bothering me. not exactly sure still what is disturbing me though. [mark] how you know? 'kay poh kia'. hope to see you soon in school. [Shawn] will you stop writing flirtatious stuff on my tagboard? and bronze is bad comparing to being champions the last time in 2001. but i guess it is marcus png. not us. [kann] published! Sunday, September 05, 2004 hey guys and gals, it has been hell of a long time since i have blogged. almost forgot to how to type. national pioneering competition (NPC) was coming up real soon. so we had to practise. however, outward bound singapore (OBS) had to clash with NPC. which also meant 4 days of possible practice days had been lost. and marcus png, a venture, was very very screwed up. we spent most of our pre-NPC moments cleaning and reorganising the store. measuring and labelling. i understand that equipment is important. but at least we should have an idea about what we are building.so we all went for OBS pretty puzzled. not knowing how our bridge was going to look like, whether it was feasiblem, whether it was stable. we did not even know how to attach the pulleys and how to do the platform and the steps. all we knew were the 2 main frames and the measurements of EVERYTHING. look at a brighter side of this week. OBS. overall, it was a fun experience. first day was residential, settling the admin stuff and the kayaking expedition to 'crab island'. it was hell of fun taking a doubles with kenneth. we beat the shit out of the 'mangkalis SIA (singapore indian association' (rueban and sharan) and the 'elite' team (jeremy yeo and daryl) and the 'MCA (malaysian chinese association)' (daniel and jeremy loi) and also the mad kai chung and wei yi team. yippee. the first 3 kayaks were always scouts. with the other watch lagging (and i mean real lagging) far far behind. then we had the jetty jump that resembled those pirate 'walk the plank' jumps. quite qool too. lunch and dinner were pure bliss. rivaling SJI canteen food. all those carbohydrates smashed onto my plate. yum yum. we even get to sleep in bunks with mattresses and fans. oh yes. we thought this was going to be a holiday after all. but we were wrong. day 2 was mobile. we did the inverted tower. kai chung and me took the one on the outside. which i believed is the harder one. and we were the only team that stand on the log and walk in mid air. then we packed up and went on our land expedition with jun how leading the pack. on and on we trudged with the slackers united singing. met other SJI OBS peeps along the way and we finally stopped at a clearing near the quarry. it was living hell there. we pitched our basha on gravel and had to sleep together with the ants (he-who-must-not-be-named) and the mosquitoes (dark lords). it was feasting time for those creeps at night. in the morning we all woke up looking like monsters, beasts, abominables scratching here and there. day3 another mobile day. we had rafting. which most of us found later to be their highest moment (shared during reflections time). we clenched the record building time of 39minutes, as compared to 45minutes by another team. our 'ship' sailed all the way to the middle of the quarry and back with no casualties, capsize, breakage or whatsoever. then we had a nice little dip in the quarry. off we went to our new campsite. did rock climbing there. i did not really do that well. quite disappointed with myself. oh well. maybe i got the muscles up there in my brian. haha. the sleeping grounds were of much better condition. they fumegated (somehow this is spelt wrongly i think) the place so there were little creeps disturbing us at night. we learned to eat our rations away from our tent and also to bathe before sleeping and lastly to wear long sleeves and pants. day4, our last day. (we left a day early because of NPC). we trekked back to our residential site. met more peeps all over pulau ubin. did the multi vein activity. which i missed. because of the 'cat 1' alert. which meant high possibility of lightning strikes. mr lui, mr irwan, mr low and mr teo paid us a visit. haha. perhaps to include our photographs in the annual and also for publicity sake. lost a harness which we paid heavily for. home we headed for. jeremy yeo, sharan, kai chung and i went to heartland mall BK for dinner. sharan realised he lost his wallet. what shit luck. went to report to SMRT. but he still held his composure well. which i found quite impressive. nice snooze at home finally!!! special thanks to Selamat, our instructor, for making OBS real fun. THANK YOU. hmm. beginning of more physical activities once again. NPC. instructions given out were hell of a screw up and i do not want to elaborate. went to bishan park at 6.30am when the competition started at 9am. so we tied like we had never tied before, pulled like we had never pulled before. marcus png shouting and screaming from outside our boundaries. far ahead of schedule but realised we were short of time the next morning. everything was taught on the spot and tied on the spot. which i felt was bullshit. we should have at least know what we were doing it for. we were commanded every single moment. not knowing what our actions were going to be for. grrrr. 8 scouts in 1 house. my house. the whole bridge team squashed into my home. mr kwang and my sister drove us to my house at 12.30am and my sister and dad drove us back at 5.30am. my parents prepared food for us and made us bathe. back in bishan park, we continued on the bridge. now using the pulleys. gabriel's mum appeared and told marcus, 'i heard my son is sick so i m here to take him home'. marcus was startled but all he said as 'oh, ok'. later he told us 'finally gabriel did something right.' feel bad for him. only then did it strike us that that spot was cursed. from zhuang mao (dengue fever) to shanmugam (high fever) to gabriel (homesick and totally exhausted). there we were 7 men left, rushing for time. inspection at 10am. i crossed the bridge, some railings snapped. but our school was the only bridge using guylines, the others used either poles or bamboos. walked around the whole field with daniel and jeremy, inspecting other people's structures. then there was the scoutcraft competitions. roman cannonball did not make it. probably 5th or 6th. 3-2-1 flagpole, missed by 1 position to qualifying. and jeremy yeo said they could have done better if not for some mistakes they made. trestle-chariot did know where we stand. but no medals for us there i am sure. totem we did not participate. sour-graping, our dear sharan, lady luck not with him. he was unable to scale the pole due to the rain and all the sweat left on the pole. he was the 2nd last climber in the squad after all. so there goes all our hopes. campfire's burning. teo chee hian is arriving. sji is crying. scout tower got participation. scout bridge (me) got bronze. venture tower got bronze. holy innocents and catholic high swapped all the champion awards. met yixuan and her boyfriend and pamela. wondered what significance my height played. brought down all the structures at night with the help of the unit. both towers took much longer than the bridge. equipment were all packed nicely for transportation back to SJI tomorrow morning. went home and felt real shagged and ill to a certain extent (flu building up). so i lied on my bed and fall asleep unintentionally in uniform. 12noon. phone rang. mum received. mum came to call me and realised i was sleeping in scouts uniform. screamed at me. i woke up. look at my alarm clock. and all i said was "oh shit". i should have been at bishan park at 10am with my land unit. what are they going to think about their SPL? i was feeling real exhausted and a little sick but i should still have woken up at least. i feel totally down and out now. i feel that i have let my unit down. arh. i cried. sorry guys. responses. i think the teacher was mr paul lam. and even person D himself read my blog and realised i was referring to him. lol. yes. i will control my temper. perhaps i am to emotional sometimes. i can change. i must change. i will change! i feel just down right now. do not even feel like going to MSN. do not even want to talk to society. give me some time. a day or two and you shall see a new BlazingWinter. and how can u all say he is sly. he was from BlueShark and i have faith in him, but i do not know about whether he has faith in me? i vow not to fight anymore this whole year! so no poles and parangs. |
